Cumulative hours: Hours completed at any point during grades 6-12 all count together. A student with 150 hours in grade 8 and 100 more in grade 10 has a total of 250 cumulative hours.
Scholarship: The NYVSA scholarship program is planned to launch after the program's first 2-3 years of operation. Only Rising Leader award recipients will be eligible.
No double-counting: Hours already counted toward another award program (e.g., Boy Scouts, religious confirmation) cannot also be counted toward NYVSA.
